Meet Our Founder
Jennifer Lee is the founder and visionary behind Ohayo Designs. A proud Chinese-American with a deep curiosity for the world, Jennifer has spent years traveling and immersing herself in dozens of cultures—experiences that have profoundly shaped her perspective on design, lifestyle, and the small rituals that connect us all.
The name Ohayo Designs is inspired by the Japanese greeting ohayō gozaimasu, meaning “good morning.” To Jennifer, it symbolizes a fresh start, a warm welcome, and the quiet joy of beginning each day with intention. This philosophy is at the heart of everything Ohayo Designs creates—objects that invite you to slow down, be present, and find beauty in the ordinary.
A seasoned marketer by trade, Jennifer’s career has taken her through diverse industries including culinary arts, home improvement, automotive, and environmental sustainability. Most recently, she left her corporate marketing job at a Fortune 25 retailer to pursue her passion: sharing Asian culture and heritage goods through thoughtful, design-led storytelling. Though her professional path has been wide-ranging, one theme has remained constant: a love for meaningful, intentional living.
Jennifer created Ohayo Designs as a reflection of her belief that everyday objects can tell stories—about heritage, craftsmanship, and the shared human experience. The brand is a thoughtful curation of artisanal, handmade pieces that elevate the way we live, cook, and connect. Inspired by global traditions and modern simplicity, Ohayo brings the world home in the most personal way.
Outside of her work, Jennifer is passionate about fashion, beauty, travel and food. She's an enthusiastic home cook; and once considered training professionally. While not yet having made it to culinary school, she continues to find joy in exploring culture through cuisine. She shares her life with her supportive and multi-talented husband John (aka her personal pilot, IT support, and accountant), and their beloved Corgi-mix, Eldon, who serves as Ohayo’s beloved mascot and self-appointed (although mostly napping) CFO.
Through Ohayo Designs, Jennifer invites you to slow down, appreciate craftsmanship, and discover beauty in the everyday.
